Delegation's the key
...to having a spanking clean house and extra time to play dragons with the kiddos. My Man's a really industrious mopper and he loves to help too! We save this favourite pasttime for rainy days when we're stuck indoors. And, oh man, rainy days are sure to stay......
Today marks 26 consecutive days of rain in Raincouver - oops, I mean, Vancouver. The record is 28 days back in 1953. The skies look set to beat that record. Come Sunday, the record would match. Come Sunday, the North Vancouvrites would be evacuating their homes for fear of a mudslide encore (of last year's). Here in the lower rainlands, I mean, Lower Mainlands, we're bound to sink deeper into the ground than we already are. Don't worry, don't worry. I can feel my mom panicking already. We'll catch the first plane home if it rains past Sunday ok. No really, maybe we ought to buy a boat and sail about for recreation if it begins to flood.....there's an exciting thought. Yet another reason to save for a rainy day. We've really taken the new year by storm in every sense of the word!

i love it! how long till i can get my little one to help around the house? i know he is only 4months old, but you should start them young right?
oh ya. train from as young as possible, I kid you not. rah rah picks up her toys (she's 15 mths) and understands instructions to do everything i need her to coz I've been "nagging" since she was only little even though she couldn't physically carry out the "duties" (like pick up this and that and help me dump it in the waste paper basket or laundry basket etc). It's great. try it.
All this sounds familiar. In fact, kit and i schemed about this before C came along. We planned to position household tasks as "rewards". Didn't quite stick to our plan but we did get C her own cleaning kit -complete with broom, mop, and bucket. She loves helping out but only ends up making more of a mess!
Eh... your Man has really grown! How tall is he now?
