Dollar-wise

Here's my daughter with her top tooth showing and her guinness book of record lengthy drool....am so pleased that she's all recovered now from the ulcerating virus (whatever it's called - "ulcermania?") and am so glad that she's still my pudgy baby even though she starved 2 days in pain.

Mr Cross-dresser, my Man! Never met a more gleeful cross-dresser. Think it's in the blood ...some gay genes from his Dad or somethin' :)

Today in brief:-

Autumn's here I swear so it's lovely strolling down the street. It's all cool and somehow more peaceful than in Summer (coz Vancouverites tend to hide in [and under their tanning beds?!] when the sun's away).

My dear friend Hope finally quit her stinko job and left Rayney in the lurch, as he should be. Rayney, if you're reading this - pppooh! Now learn to clean your own bum.

My almost twin Stacie also quit her job for a more glam job. Now she'd accumulate more dosh than ever and bowl us all over by buying yet another island, in cash! Maybe some of that money karma'll rub off on me.....me being her almost twin and all. Happy birthday in advance Seetho!

Tsk. All these lawyers job-hopping and all...what a complicated life. Mine? These pics say it all I guess :) Wouldn't miss these smiles for another dollar.

What's in the name?

Whilst watching Oliver Twist on tv last evening, I mentioned to my Man that I almost named him "Oliver". In reply to whether he preferred "Oliver" to "Gareth" [which was Daddy's choice], he stated in no uncertain terms "I like Wong Fei Hong. Fei Hong's my favourite name.". Shoulda known to ask.

More to thank God for!

Madam Grumps in her new dress. Man, what does one have to do to stop them Mommies putting froo-froos on ya, huh? She's much better now and nursing well - yay. Today, she's stood on her own for a couple of seconds and actually "danced" that booty dance of hers! Am so happy. Just absolutely glad that her ulcers have subsided somewhat and she's almost back to normal being ill-tempered and all :) Phew! Thought for a moment that 40 degree temperature might've burnt that temper out. Hell, no way, Hosea!

Went to Surrey Central yesterday for a window shopping spree.... and caught this picture of Gareth happily occupying himself. Speaking of a thousand words.....who'd have thought to put those fingers to such use? Oh, and I think Autumn's officially here. Of course the Vancourites are unhappy. I'm ecstatic. Thank God for cooler weather & grey skies! It's my fave "curl up and read a book" type of ambience. Bye bye sun!

Pride & Prayers

Pose of the day. My baby is growing more cheeky by the day. Her temper tantrums are also more vile. Today she stood solitaire several times for more than a couple of seconds each time. It's amazing to watch her improve. Tapped her hand tersely today for ignoring my instructions to leave the wires, cords and sockets alone. She's testing boundaries real fast. And, honest to goodness, her thighs are majorly strong. I give up diapering her. Maybe she's asking to be toilet-trained. Ha. Love her to bits. My Kyrah-rah.

My sweetheart. It's impossible to take any pictures of him of late. He has grown not so much camera-shy as vain I think. He only allows photography when he's in one of his kung-fu stances. You'll see. This is a shot of him after he lodged a complaint about how face-paints are not nice. The tiger never emerged...Alas! I believe this is the only picture I'll ever get of him with his face "tainted" with paint this entire life-time. I love my man to bits.

He's down with something today. Couldn't finish off his swim-class coz he felt way too cold. He threw up his dinner (which I managed to get him to swallow as a trade-off for allowing him to watching "Once upon a time in China III"). His temperature's so high, I did the suppository thing again. When he's too weak to protest and to squeeze the suppository back out, we know he's really sick. Darn. I pray my baby gets well quick.

My Man & the dancing queen

The sky turns a very pretty pale fuschia pink during sun-set in Vancouver....I never noticed it till he pointed it out to me this evening. How he opens up my eyes!

And unless you're brimming with confidence, never don hair-sprayed hair in his presence.

"Wo, eNORmous hair!" is what he exclaimed when she settled down in the seat in front of us on the No.9 Bus on West Broadway this evening. He started to repeat himself when she turned to smile...what could I have done? My darling man....

My Belle shakes her booty to catchy music. It's hilarious. Her bum's way cute! Maybe her bum genes are mine :)

Isaac's party

Isaac's birthday party /BBQ was a blast! My Man and my Belle had a great time as did grandpa and grandma who spent most of their time chatting in Hokkien with Isaac's granddads!

There you go....caught in the act of conversing in their favourite lingo with Deborah's Dad.

My Belle puts on the party hat for laughs. Alright, alright, for my entertainment.

My Man attempts to throttle Isaac for his birthday presents...but fails miserably. Oh well, maybe next year then...

My Belle cozies up with the gals....Jessica and Alyssa.

My Man waiting patiently for a piece-a.

About my Princess Belle...

Nickname: Kai-rah-rah

Fave person other than mommy: Grandpa

Fave play-mate other than my Man: Daddy

Pet peeve: Grandma carrying her away from a "no-no" situation.

Fave sport: Swinging way high in swings, then sliding down slide the wrong way.

Fave words to date: "Aarp!" [translated "Up"] and " Barlow!" ["hello"]

Fave hand sign: The pointed finger [very accusatory gesture if I may add, especially if you're the recipient]

Strengths: Those powerful thighs

Resemblance: A Koala bear [coz of her beary huggable teeny body]

Born truthful

Straight from innocent lips, "Mommy, why is Devon sooo fat?"

Devon is my Man's new swim instructor (ang moh on right of picture).

I couldn't let the moment kill me...soo MANY eyes were on me from that bold and oh-so-terribly-LOUD statement!!!!

To rectify the boo-boo, I bravely replied, "No dear, she's muscular from all that swimming. She's a good swimmer."

I thought I did pretty well coz my response elicited smiles from all those eyes around me... until my Man muttered, "Mommy, I don't want to be a good swimmer anymore...."

The heartaches of motherhood!

My Belle now speaks! Today, everything is labelled, "Aarpp" [translated "Up"]

So even though she was clambering down from the bed or from the sofa, she would forewarn, "Aarpp!". Gor Gor was in stitches.

Beds & date-logs

Cool notice huh? Courtesy of the Parks Department, Edgmont Village.

Today began the Starfish swim-class for my Man. Needless to say, my son made me super proud swimming like a right real dolphin! Of course, he tried his frog trick with the new instructor but gained no respectful reaction from her since she didn't know why he was croaking so and sticking his tongue out at her!

My Belle said "necklace" to me as she fiddled with my "new" necklace (one she hasn't seen on me before). :) Ok, ok.....whatever she had said, it sure sounded like "necklace" to me. I'm all ears when my Belle babbles.....it's only Mommy's nature!

This Saturday is Isaac's birthday party. I'm printing it here for good measure so I don't forget! 2pm at Isaac's place. My Man's ecstatic about the invite. Isaac's 4 and will be 5 this Saturday. He's my Man's first friend. They met at a toy store during which Isaac made ME memorise his home phone number so I could set up a play-date for them two! Cool kid. He has been my Man's play-date ever since. Neat deal really.

Of ponies & gourmet BBQ

Saturday was spent at Connaught Park riding ponies and the evening saw us at Doreen and Lawrence's place for a delicious BBQ. Ah! What an eventful day!

Yesterday's darling was, "Mommy, I don't want you to have any more babies." Why not? "Because I don't want the baby to drink my boob boobs." [he's referring to mine]

We heard my Belle grinding something with her bottom teeth in the car on the way to the BBQ. Then a giant sized blob of saliva shot from her mouth onto me! I thought some alien had invaded her mouth and was throwing saliva balls at me....upon investigation, however,I was pleasantly surprised to find her top teeth emerging! She's now duly armed to defend herself against "Gor Gor' [big brother] without our intervention!

Wong Fei Hong and his clever sister

This was taken during the annual fireworks competition here in Vancouver. Sweden won this year.

Gareth turned down face-painting this morning declaring, "I don't like it. It's not nice. " All he's obsessed with these days is to be "Wong Fei Hong". We were woken up early this morning with a loud and clear, "Mommy, is my hair long? Up to my pantat [buttocks]?" Of course I told him a white lie. What's a mama to do when her baby wants to be cool?

During our walk this morning, Kyra (from her stroller) pointed at a toy-dog (erm...so small I dun even know what breed it is...) and exclaimed, "Meow!". I felt proud but feigned an apologetic look for the benefit of the embarassed owner. What kind of dog looks like a cat? Pff.

We're going out for some popsicles now. Whoa! Temperatures are soaring. Inside temperature is past 30 degrees celsius. Er..dun think we can manage S'pore's weather any longer! Yikes.

Mammarazzi

And so I'm known as the "Mammarazzi" and oh dear, yes, that seems to be exactly what I do the entire day - snapping shots of them both!

Yesterday's darling was, "I thank God for Kiam Kiam (sour kana)". [My Man!]

My Belle can do the twinkle twinkle little star and clap on command now. This morning's greeting to grandma was a game of peek-a-boo with our master-bedroom door until grandma picked her up. Milestones indeed! She looks more like Daddy these days with that "enigmatic" smile :)

BTW, it was Roseala my Princess had the last couple of days. She broke out in "false measles" all over her trunk region. My baby was sooo brave! She's ay-ok now.

Sunday picnic

And so we had a picnic at Murdo Frazer Park in Edgemont Village yesterday and boy was it fun!

My Belle's favourite pasttime is now being lodged in a swing. My Man loves "fishing" in the creek!

If Ryan and CaitCait were here too - the kids would surely have a ball of a time! How about a Winter visit then, Jaffar and HonBun?

My day made

And so my son wakes this morning... and over a peanut butter toast proclaims "Mmm, mommy, your teeth are pretty!"

My mommy tummy? or that cellulite whereever? (not mentioning where) or my spotted chin? or whatever whatever? Who cares?

My day's made. He's my prince.

My Belle's teething. I hope. Her temperatures been soaring but I'm not too pessimistic. This one's a toughie. A real toughie. Please let my baby get thru this ok.

Music with Marnie

Signed them both up for Music with Marnie today.

My Man's a handful today (oh, I forget, no exception today I mean). My head's exploding.

I hope my Belle's lungs have reached their max. . Her screams give new meaning to "blood curdling".
